One- Stop Solution for Handlooms rooted in Tradition and Culture
Being an Indian has acquainted us with diversity & culture far beyond what any textbook or media could provide. The feeling of belongingness it brings with it is quite deep-rooted.
Our land depicts cultural diversity in various forms such as language, food, clothes, etc. Traveling around the country one could easily find a lot of variety & distinctiveness in the way people dress, the types of food they eat and the languages they speak. It is fascinating to know how people have managed to keep their tradition & culture alive in this dynamic environment. They take it as an obligation to pass the cultures to the next generation. It could easily be seen by the way they dress. Not just culture & tradition, they even pass their skills from generation to generation.
For decades now, families in various parts of India have been taking pride in their methods of making garments. They believe in delivering unadulterated fabric to enable their customers to experience purity.
People with such intentions are hard to find & get easily lost in this fast fashion industry. Therefore we at Chapai believe that such cultures should be cherished & preserved for eternity. It is thus thought that motivated us to start our own brand, to help these people showcase their art & moreover introduce to people the beauty of the handmade fabric. Researching & experimenting we came up with a series of collections each signifying a trait or an emotion, most of which are inspired by nature. Given below is a short description of some of our beautiful handmade block print collection:
Ajhrang: The name came to life through the combination of 2 words, Ajrakh and Rang. The colors in this collection are only organic colors derived from the extracts of fruits and vegetables for the print.
Bela: Bela is one of Chapai’s ‘Kota Doria’ fabrics, available in a variety of designs such as floral, abstract, etc.
Ruhaniyat: Ruhaniyat signifies spirituality. It is a hand-woven fabric with Banarasi weaving to establish a tranquil and spiritual tone.
Khwaab: It is a perfectly dreamy hand block printed ‘buta’ pattern adorning the ‘mal mal noor’ dupatta.
Rukhsar is one of our everyday essential fabrics, enhancing the personality of an individual. It’s one of the classic pieces stitched with a blend of Kota fabric with hand block mal mal dupatta.
All our fabrics are hand-woven with hand block paintings by our artisans who have been perfecting the art for decades now. We believe in promoting their skills so that they can continue with this work & the rich heritage stays intact for the coming generations. Striving to hold on to our customs, we believe in sustainability as well. Our motto is to create a fabric that lasts & is trendy as well. Our designs are inspired by the classic royalties making them timeless possession.
